In this post will we know how to use firesheep to hack into any Facebook account without even knowing the user name or password.
It has been a couple of month since the Firefox addon firesheep have been launched. This addon demonstrate HTTP session hijacking attack. This addon is used to get access to the victim's facebook or any other account without even knowing the user name or password of the victim's account.
So, how does a hacker uses Firesheep to hack any account (including facebook off-course) ?
Now, I will tell you how to hack a facebook account by using firesheep's HTTP session hijacking attack. You will need:
- Windows XP or MAC 10.5 or above
- A public WiFi access
- If you are using windows, then you will need wincap, download wincap
- Mozilla firefox browser, 3.6.12 or newer version 4 is currently not supported
- Firesheep ( download firesheep)
Steps:
- First open the firesheep with Firefox, then install it.
- Once installed you will see a side bar, if not then go to view>sidebar>firesheep
- Connect to a busy Wifi network and click on the big start capturing button.
- After clicking on start capturing button, wait for some one to log into their account
- Once anyone on your network visit any insecure website known to firesheep their name and photo will be shown in the sidebar.
- Double click on someone and you would be instantly logged in as them.

I did used the same procedure, but its not working can you could guide me. Whenever I tried to install firesheep it says its not compatible.

Check the version of your firefox this firesheep works only with version 3.6.12 browser check it.
It was good a writing I have read about these before also, so whenever I use my social account on any wifi system I am always a little bit of suspecious. http://apps.facebook.com/diskonline
