What are malwares?

Malwares are actually a program ( code, active script, software etc) that is used to infect any computer and carry on their pre determined objective without even letting the user getting slightest hint. Malwares are a menace from a long time. In this post I will discuss about some of the malware around us.
Is you computer running slow, or you are getting trouble in starting your programs, it may be possible that your computer is infected by malwares.

There are several types of malware around us:
  • Trojan Horse: It is one of the most common and most dangerous of the malwares. This is installed on the victims computer not to damage any files but to gain control over the victim's system. Once installed hacker gains complete access over the victim's computer.
  • Computer virus: It is basically a program which is meant to infect the computer. Once it get inside a system it reproduces and replicates itself to increase its number and create more destruction. It may cause a lot of damages and can transmit from one system to another.
  • Worm: These are similar to computer virus, the main difference being the host location. In case of virus we have seen that virus can transmit from one computer to another but a worm sticks to the host and damages only the host.
  • Keyloggers: These are software that is meant to record all you keystrokes including your sensitive data and information such as user name and passwords. It can record all your chat sessions and emails also or whatever you write from your keyboard.
  • RATs: RAT or remote administrative tools are program which is used to gain access to victim system and take full control over it. It is similar to trojan, once attached to the host, hacker can do anything with the victim computer.
